Unfortunately Mestre Cabeludo will not be able to attend our Batizado due to complications with getting his visa to Canada. Hence, the schedule has now changed for the following:
Thursday, October 27
Workshop 7pm – 9pm
Given by Contra-Mestre Fabinho from Dendê do Recife, Ottawa
Friday, October 28
Workshop 7pm – 9pm
Given by Contra-Mestre João de Deus from Sul da Bahia, Quebec
Saturday October 29
Batizado 10am – 1pm
Costume Party starts at 9pm, location to be announced in class. All students are encourage to invite their friends to come celebrate!
COST
For the students and visitors on the day of the Batizado (October 29th):
Batizado Shirt only – 20$
Spectators entrance fees – 5$
For the students of Porto da Barra
Beginner students:
Exams – 20$
Batizado & Troca de Corda costs $100 and includes shirt, cord and bag
Advanced students:

Each additionnal roda and workshop:
Roda – 20$
Workshop – 35$ – All students changing cords SHOULD participate and ALL LEVELS are welcome.
The exams will be given during the month of October, between the 15th and the 28th. Each student should write a 500 words analysis of the physical training of the Montreal affiliate of Porto da Barra.
Each student should invite at least 5 people to see the Batizado which includes a maculele demonstration and a capoeira show. Again, the admission to the Batizado for spectators is $5.
